About the Old Forums

The Old forums were hosted on the InvisionFree boards service also know as IFB or just InvisionFree.

The reason Illicit Awakening selected InvisionFree back in 2005 was that it was the most popular and best free serivce at the time.

Unfortunately the life of InvisionFree was only 2002 to 2018.

TapaTalk acquired InvisionFree in 2017 and started migrating forums to TapaTalk. TapaTalk also took over other services as well, such as ezboard, ZetaBoard, Yuku and others.  But they all suffered the same fate.

TapaTalk UI is really bad, it has too many ads and spam, the overlays, lightboxes and those annoying in-page popups are just too much.  When TapaTalk converted the forums they broke it too!  All of our old links do not work anymore, really lame!

Also TapaTalk is "closed service" that means we cannot access any of our data other than viewing the forums itself.  With TapaTalk being such a horrible service it was time to leave and move on.  And leaving TapaTalk, unfortunately means that we also lose all of our old posts and content.  But the show must go on!

Most communities that started on InvisionFree have left TapaTalk (because TapaTalk sucks, it really does) and moved on to other forums and we did as well. Many who wanted to keep the old style went to Jcink which is based on InvisionFree and looks like that old school style.

But to be safer we decided to host our own forums instead of being dependent a forum service to avoid getting locked out, like what TapaTalk did to so many people.  Better safe than sorry.

After looking at a lot of forum software we ultimately went with MyBB, a free and open source PHP forum software.

Hello in this small tutorial you will be able to fix the ping problem as the title says, mwraki had a simlar problem and i came across with some fixes.

if you see server ping 9999 dont panic follow the steps bellow.


1. Flush your dns cache, how to do that?
Windows 7:

• Open Start menu
  
  
• Click Run
  
  
• Type cmd and press enter
  
  
• In the Command Prompt type ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter
  

• On your keyboard, press Win+X to open the WinX Menu
  
  
• Right-click Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
  
  
• Run this command ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter
  

The forum theme style has been changed to closer match the colors of the long lost old forums.
